St. Augustine Smart Lighting at Pedestrian Crosswalks
Project Description: The St. Augustine Smart Lighting at Pedestrian Crosswalks provides automated control of lighting at crosswalks when pedestrians are detected at those facilities. The Smart Lighting will be used at Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon (RRFB) equipped crosswalks and Pedestrian Traffic Signal Crosswalks. The project architecture uses a service and interfaces that accommodate dynamic roadway lighting, for instance, the information flow "traffic detector control" is applied for pedestrian detection.

Project Functional Requirements (Element - Functional Object):
-
City of St. Augustine Field Equipment - Roadway Basic Surveillance
-
1: The field element shall collect, process, digitize, and send traffic sensor data (speed, volume, and occupancy) to the center for further analysis and storage, under center control.
-
4: The field element shall return sensor and CCTV system operational status to the controlling center.
-
5: The field element shall return sensor and CCTV system fault data to the controlling center for repair.
-
City of St. Augustine Field Equipment - Roadway Lighting System Control
-
1: The field element shall control lighting systems along the roadside under center control.
-
2: The field element shall return operational status for the lighting system equipment to the center.
-
3: The field element shall return lighting system equipment fault data to the center for repair.
-
City of St. Augustine Field Equipment - RSE Lighting System Support
-
1: The field element shall monitor vehicle presence and collect environmental information from passing connected vehicles.
-
2: The field element shall report the current operational state and status of the field element to the center.
-
City of St. Augustine Smart Lighting Management System - TMC Basic Surveillance
-
1: The center shall monitor, analyze, and store traffic sensor data (speed, volume, occupancy) collected from field elements under remote control of the center.
-
City of St. Augustine Smart Lighting Management System - TMC Lighting System Control
-
2: The traffic management center shall collect lighting system operational status from the field and compare against the control information sent by the center.
-
3: The traffic management center shall collect lighting system fault data from the field and send to the maintenance center for repair.
-
6: The traffic management center shall adjust lighting level based on operational condition.
