Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide fixed-route school bus services for the region.
- Provide transit incident information on the school district Web site.
- Provide transit vehicle security using silent alarms.
- County Paratransit
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate multimodal connections with other regional transit agencies and multimodal service providers.
- Operate shuttle services that offer door-to-door services in the District. This includes systems for qualified users, as well as systems that serve the general public.
- Provide a demand responsive transit plan to users/travelers via the local agency traveler information system.
- Jacksonville Transportation Authority
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate multimodal connections for fixed-route transit vehicles with other regional transit agencies and multimodal service providers.
- Coordinate transit signal priority for fixed-route transit vehicles with the City of Jacksonville traffic engineering division.
- Coordinate with the City of Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for response to transit-related incidents.
- Operate the Skyway people-mover system.
- Provide capability for transit traveler trip planning.
- Provide fixed-route transit and paratransit services for the City of Jacksonville.
- Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment on JTA fixed-route vehicles.
- Provide transit schedule and fare information to regional traveler information systems, including the northeast Florida traveler information system and the JTA Web site.
- Provide transit vehicle security using silent alarms and video surveillance.
- Gainesville Traffic Operations Division
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate multimodal connections for fixed-route transit vehicles with other regional transit agencies and multimodal service providers.
- Coordinate transit signal priority for fixed-route transit vehicles with the traffic division.
- Coordinate with local police for response to transit-related incidents.
- Provide fixed-route transit and paratransit services for the City of Gainesville.
- Provide the capability for transit traveler trip planning, including the ability to make paratransit trip reservations.
- Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment on fixed-route vehicles.
- Provide transit schedule and fare information to regional traveler information systems, including the northeast Florida traveler information system.
- Provide transit vehicle security using silent alarms and video surveillance.
- Track and evaluate schedule performance on all system transit vehicles.
