The Regional ITS Architecture provides a starting point for project definition. It provides an overall framework that shows how anticipated projects will integrate with each other and with existing systems. This page lists all the ITS projects that have been mapped to the regional ITS architecture.

Short term projects are scheduled for the next 5 years. Medium term projects are scheduled for between 5 - 10 years. Long term projects are scheduled for more than 10 years.

Brevard County ITS - Evacuation Route Planned Long Upgrade DMS signs to provide public with evacuation and transit related information.
Brevard County ITS Phase 2 Planned Long ITS expansion and congestion reduction. Includes CCTV, Travel Time System, Road Weather Information System, Road Weather Information System, Microwave Vehicle Detection System, Signal Upgrade (Adaptive). Area: Throughout the county to complete the overall system.
City of Orlando Airport Coordination Planned Medium This project would connect the City of Orlando with the Orlando International Airport for the purposes of sharing traveler information. The airport would send estimated arrival times of planes, which could then be posted on DMS on airport approaches.
City of Orlando ATMS Upgrade Planned Medium This project would connect the City of Orlando to the FDOT SunGuide system. This would allow Orlando to share video with FDOT.
Seminole County SPAT Deployment Planned Medium This project would deploy Signal Phasing and Timing (SPAT) at intersections in Seminole County. SPAT would allow communication between connected vehicles and traffic signal equipment in Seminole County. These deployments could allow drivers to anticipate changes in traffic signals and avoid unnecessary delays, reduce emissions, and increase traffic safety.
Florida Statewide Tolling Customer Service Center Planned Medium/Long This project would create a statewide customer service center for tolling, which would replace regional and individual authority tolling customer service centers. Under this scenario, toll plazas would send information to a centralized, state-managed customer service center. In addition, this project would create a single toll-tag for the State of Florida.
Brevard County 511 Plug-in Planned Mid Incident management: gathered informatiuon by TMC operators - communicate emergency response.
Brevard County ITS Phase 1b Planned Mid ITS expansion priority project. Includes CCTV, Travel Time System, Road Weather Information System, Microwave Vehicle Detection System, Signal Upgrade (Adaptive), 511 Plug-in. Area: Palm Bay and City of Melbourne.
Brevard County ITS Road Ranger Planned Mid Provide basic Road Ranger service at I-95 in Brevard County.
Adaptive Signal Control on SR 482/US 441 Planned Short Installing APT and Bluetooth
Brevard County ITS Phase 1a Planned Short ITS expansion priority project. CCTV, Travel Time System, Road Weather Information System, Microwave Vehicle Detection System, Signal Upgrade (Adaptive). Area include Cocoa, Merritt Island and the Titusville area. Includes a new TMC.
Brevard County Transit Upgrade Planned Short Install AVL and APC systems to improve transit system.
City of Ocala ASC Planned Short Installing adaptive signal cntrol (ASC) on SR 464 in the City of Ocala
City of Orlando CCTV Expansion Planned Short This project would add additional devices to expand the City of Orlando CCTV capability.
City of Orlando Parking Management Planned Short This project would create a parking management system for the City of Orlando. The City plans on hiring a private contractor who will provide parking information directly to the public through a smartphone application. This parking management system will act as a middleman between private parking providers and customers, including traveler information for parking and payment.
City of Orlando Travel Time System Planned Short This project would establish a travel time system in the City of Orlando. The project will integrate this into the regional travel time system, and may be integrated into the parking management system.
City of Orlando TSP Expansion Planned Short This project would expand transit signal priority (TSP) capability in the City of Orlando
FDOT Active Arterial Management System Planned Short The first route includes the arterials leading to I-4. The consultant will adjust signal timing and provide traffic information to travelers, indicating options for their use leading towards I-4. The project will adjust signal timing related to predictable traffic conditions, especially during special events or construction on I-4. Traffic information will be provided to drivers via DMS, FL511, and via a website. The existing FL511 website includes traveler information on freeways and will now be expanded to include arterials.
Greater Orlando Transit Signal Priority Phase 1 Planned Short Installing transit signal priority (TSP) equipment throughout Orange and Seminole Counties and providing 10% for CEI. Will upgrade 608 intersections and 139 controllers. Will also install 183 GPS on Fire Trucks.
Greater Orlando Transit Signal Priority Phase 2 Planned Short Installing transit signal priority (TSP) equipment throughout Orange and Seminole Counties and providing 10% for CEI. Will upgrade 608 intersections and 139 controllers. Will also install 183 GPS on fire trucks.

I-4 Express Lanes Planned Short This project would add managed lanes on I-4, including open road tolling and ITS devices. ITS deployments include CCTV, DMS, MVDS, Toll Gantries, LVDS and Tolling VMS.

I-75 ITS Upgrades Phase 2 Planned Short Designing ITS system from fiber, CCTV, MVDS on I-75.
ITS Software Support Planned Short Develop and/or modify software to enhance existing ITS operations, integrate with ITS devices for interconnectivity, data management, and application development such as Road Ranger Tablet Software, Bluetooth TSS-TVT Modification, Google Traffic API implementation, SunGuide Data Retention and Performance Reporting.

Marion County ASC Planned Short Installing adaptive signal control (ASC) on SR 464.
Ocala ITS Countywide Marion County Project Planned Short Installing Bluetooth, ADP Signal Control, wireless, transit signal priority (TSP).
Orange County Adaptive Signal System Planned Short Upgrading existing signal detection, communication, and hardware system. Installing Bluetooth readers.
Orange County ATMS Phase 3 Planned Short Upgrading existing signal detection, communication and hardware system. Upgrading existing TMC video display system. Installing Bluetooth readers.
