Many stakeholders develop, operate, or maintain ITS elements in the Florida Statewide region. The ITS Architecture inventory is an alphabetical listing of the stakeholder ITS elements. Each ITS element is hotlinked to a page with specific details for that ITS element.

ElementDescription
911 Emergency Call Centers Represents the various county and local call taker systems that handle 911 calls. This includes the FHP, county sheriffs, and many local police call taker systems. It also includes E911 systems.
Air Freight Terminals Represents regional air freight terminals.
Air Quality Sensors These sensors measure air quality, by assessing pollutants (e.g., NOx, CO, particulates), and provide these measurements back to a center for analysis.
Amtrak Passenger Train Terminal Amtrak passenger train terminals located in the State of Florida.
Archived Data User Systems Users of archived data.
CFX Expressway Management System Represents the CFX ITS system used for expressway management.
CHEMTREC CHEMTREC (CHEMical TRansportation Emergency Center) was established by the chemical industry as a public service hotline for fire fighters, law enforcement, and other emergency responders to obtain information and assistance for emergency incidents involving chemicals and hazardous materials.
City of Tallahassee/FDOT RTMC Represents the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) in Tallahassee. The RTMC includes both the City of Tallahassee Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and the FDOT District 3 Freeway Management System (FMS).
Commercial Drivers License Information System (CDLIS) The nationwide drivers license system that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has developed and issued standards for testing and licensing CMV drivers.
Commercial Vehicle Privately owned commercial vehicles. Included in the architecture to cover HAZMAT incident reporting.
Commercial Vehicle Driver Driver of commercial vehicles.
County and City Overdimension Permit Systems In the state of Florida, counties and cities may issue their own oversize/overweight vehicle permits for roads under their jurisdiction. In practice, few counties or communities actually do.
County and City Public Information System Generic element representing the public information office systems that are operated by county and local governments. They provide information on road closures and other important traveler information in the region.
County and City PWD Vehicles Generic element representing the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard the maintenance vehicles operated by county or city maintenance organizations.
County and City Roadway Maintenance and Construction Systems Generic element representing the road maintenance and construction systems operating in the region. This includes local, municipal and county maintenance departments.
County and Local Asset Management Systems This element represents asset management databases or systems operated by county or municipal agencies.
County and Local Drawbridge Systems Miami-based US Coast Guard determines schedule for bridge openings and closings based on marine traffic and weather conditions. Marine traffic receives information from the Coast Guard on bridge schedules. Bridge tenders working for the county and local agencies actually control the raising and lowering of the bridges. Transponders that provide bridge status information (none currently implemented) would provide this information directly to the county and local operating agencies.
County and Local Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for county, local and municipal maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
County and Local Field Equipment Generic element representing smaller county and local ITS roadside field equipment not specifically enumerated in other inventory elements. This suggests that these traffic signal systems that are widely scattered through the district should be integrated in a consistent fashion, when circumstances require. ITS field equipment may include traffic signals, vehicle detectors, CCTV cameras, dynamic message signs, etc., to control and monitor traffic.
County and Local Parking Management Systems Represents parking management systems in counties and municipalities.
County and Local Toll Customer Service Centers A customer service center providing administrative back office and customer support functions for the local electronic toll systems which may not included in the SunPass network.
County and Local Traffic Control Systems Generic element representing county and municipal traffic signal control systems. These systems control traffic signals and manage other ITS traffic management devices, such as dynamic message signs, and CCTV cameras.
County Emergency Broadcast Systems Generic element representing information systems used to disseminate emergency information, including evacuation routes. Such systems may include sirens, telephone numbers and web sites.
County EOCs/Warning Points Generic element representing county emergency operation centers (EOCs). The county EOC provides a coordinating point for the effective management of local emergencies to catastrophic events in and around the county. It is the lead organization in coordinating disaster response from a municipal level to state and federal. Recovery planning and financial assistance from the State of Florida and FEMA are established through the EOC.
County Fire EMS/Rescue Dispatch Generic element representing county fire and rescue dispatch centers. In some counties, this may include dispatching volunteer departments and EMS. The dispatch center provides call taking, communications, and dispatch functions. Note that there are multiple fire districts in some counties. In these cases, there is an overall county-wide dispatch operation that dispatches ambulances and other assets and independent dispatch operations for each of the other districts in the county.
County Fire EMS/Rescue Vehicles Generic element representing the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard county fire trucks, fire apparatus, and other rescue vehicles.
County Paratransit Systems Shuttle services that do not operate on fixed routes or schedules, offering door to door service in the District. This includes systems for qualified users as well as systems that serve the general public. These systems provide operations, maintenance, customer information, planning and management functions for the transit agency.
County Sheriff Dispatch Generic element representing the county sheriff dispatch center. The dispatch center provides call taking, communications, and dispatch functions.
County Sheriffs Vehicles Generic element representing the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard county sheriff vehicles.
CVIEW Commercial Vehicle Information Exchange Window (CVIEW) provides information on a carriers International Registration Plan (IRP) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
CVO Inspector Responsible for the inspection of commercial vehicles within the region and/or State of Florida.
CVO Pre-Pass Sites PrePass is a nationwide AVI system that allows participating transponder equipped CVO to bypass designated weigh stations and port-of entry facilities.
Demand-Response/Rural Transit Database This statewide archive collects transit data from transit systems that serve the transportation disadvantaged, and make this data available to other state and federal agencies.
Division of Forestry District Offices Each district office for Division of Forestry issues permits. As permits are issued, this data is provided to this database.
E-Pass Service Center The Customer Service Centers that distribute E-Pass tags and provide the back room functions.
Escambia County Bridge Toll Customer Service Center A customer service center providing administrative back office and customer support functions for the electronic toll system on the Escambia County Toll bridge.
FDHSMV CR SCAN Database The CR SCAN database processes raw FHP CAD information and inputs this data into the FDHSMV CARS system.
FDHSMV FIRES Data Portal Represents the public-facing portal for statewide crash records operated by FDHSMV
FDLE Headquarters Represents the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Office in Tallahassee that originates Amber Alerts.
FDOT Asset Management Company Private Maintenance contractor that supports FDOT for the maintenance of interstate 75.
FDOT Asset Management Systems Database systems used by FDOT to perform asset management.
FDOT Aviation Database FDOT database containing transportation data related to aviation in the State of Florida.
FDOT Bridge Management Inventory Data Suppliers Individual bridge inspections are performed by FDOT districts. In the future, this manual inspection information could be augmented with automated measurements using stream gauge and stress gauge sensors.
FDOT Bridge Management Inventory System (Pontis and Virtis) Includes design criteria such as load ratings for state roads and highways.
FDOT CARS Database This statewide database stores crash reports collected by state, county, and local law enforcement agencies in Florida.
FDOT Central Maintenance One Stop Permitting System This permitting system allows contractors to submit applications for permits.
FDOT Central Office Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in the Central Office. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT CO TSO Permanent Traffic Counters Represents permanent traffic counters deployed by the FDOT Central Office Transportation Statistics Office.
FDOT CV Parking Management System Represents the Commercial Vehicle (CV) Parking Management System for the State of Florida. This system determines parking availability at CV parking facilities and communicates this information downstream to commercial vehicle operators.
FDOT District 1 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 1 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 1 I-75 Traffic Satellite Center The FDOT I-75 Satellite center monitors CCTV, HAR, RWIS and DMS in Manatee and Sarasota counties along I-75. The I-75 Satellite Center is co-located with the Manatee-Sarasota Regional TMC. Note that servers for the I-75 Satellite Center are located at the FDOT SWIFT Center in Fort Myers, which also takes over operations in Manatee and Sarasota Counties on nights and weekends.
FDOT District 1 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 1. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 1 SWIFT Center The Southwest Inter-agency Facilities for Transportation (SWIFT) Center, located in Fort Myers, is FDOT's primary TMC in District 1. The SWIFT Center controls CCTV, DMS, HAR, and RWIS in District 1, primarily along I-75. In addition, the SWIFT Center serves as a backup for the I-75 Satellite Center in Manatee County and operates the I-75 Satellite Center systems on nights and weekends.
FDOT District 2 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 2. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 2 RTMC Represents the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) for FDOT District 2.
FDOT District 2 Vehicle Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 2 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 3 Chipley STMC Represents the FDOT District 3 Satellite Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Chipley, which operates highway in the central portion of District 3.
FDOT District 3 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 3maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 3 Pensacola RTMC This operations center provides traffic management services covering the city of Pensacola, Escambia County, and Santa Rosa County. Other colocated stakeholders include FHP, MCCO, City of Gulf Breeze, and City of Milton.
FDOT District 3 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 3. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 4 Arterial Management System Represents the arterial management system operated at the FDOT District 4 RTMC.
FDOT District 4 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 4 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 4 FMS Represents the Freeway Management System operated at the FDOT District 4 RTMC.

FDOT District 4 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 4. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 5 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 5 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 5 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 5. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 5 RTMC The regional traffic management center that manages major roadways for Florida DOT in District 5 and interstates around Florida that are not monitored by other systems. This staffed center provides key traffic monitoring and motorist information systems for roadways (and bridges) in District 5 and around the state. It provides incident management for both planned (e.g. major sporting events) and unplanned incidents (e.g. major weather events)
FDOT District 6 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 6 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 6 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 6. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 6 SunGuide Transportation Management Center This facility operates the SunGuide system along I-95 in Miami-Dade County.
FDOT District 7 Equipment Repair Facility This facility provides repair and maintenance services for FDOT District 7 maintenance vehicles and equipment (e.g. portable DMS).
FDOT District 7 Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in District 7. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District 7 Tampa Bay SunGuide Center The RTMC provides regional traffic management for interstates, expressways, and other limited access facilities in the District 7 region. It also provides a central data collection and repository function (the "Regional Planning Subsystem") for the district 7 region. Co-located with FDOT D7, FDOT EOC, and FHP Dispatch.
FDOT District Construction and Maintenance This system manages construction and maintenance activities for FDOT Districts. It schedules and coordinates road closures, responds to routine and emergency road construction and maintenance requests, and otherwise maintains FDOT-managed roads in FDOT Districts.
FDOT District Emergency Operations Centers Each FDOT District, including Turnpike, includes an Emergency Operations Center that is activated for major incidents/emergencies.
FDOT District Field Equipment Represents the ITS field equipment operated by that is owned and operated by FDOT to manage traffic on state roads and interstates in each district. This includes vehicle detectors, CCTV cameras, dynamic message signs, road weather information sensors, etc., to control and monitor traffic.
FDOT District Maintenance Vehicles Represents the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard the maintenance and construction vehicle owned and operated by the FDOT Districts. This may include vehicles currently operated or owned by private contractors but used for FDOT projects.
FDOT District Public Information Office Systems Systems operated by the FDOT public information offices that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in the FDOT Districts. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FDOT District Transportation Data Warehouses This element represents the various transportation data collection system for each FDOT District. The information collected by each of these FDOT Districts is then provided to the statewide archive in Tallahassee.
FDOT District Transportation Management Centers This element represents the various traffic management centers operated or maintained, either jointly by itself, the FDOT Districts.

FDOT MCCO Represents the various registration, safety, and compliance systems used by the FDOT Motor Carrier Compliance Office.
FDOT OS/OW Permit System State system that issues oversize and overweight permits for commercial vehicles. In the architecture, this system receive current road restrictions and provides information on permits that have been issued to improve highway safety and operating efficiency. Will be extended to provide this information to all patrol vehicles.
FDOT Rail Operations Database FDOT database containing rail-transportation data related to rail in the State of Florida. This may include freight and passenger data.
FDOT Rail-Highway Crossings Database Includes characteristics of the grade crossings, including crash reports.
FDOT Roadway Characteristics Inventory This database contains roadway characteristics for the state road system. It is supplied by each district's Traffic Operations, Maintenance, and Planning Transportation Statistics offices. This database also includes a roadway video log.
FDOT Roadway Characteristics Inventory Data Suppliers Operational and geometrical characteristics from Transportation Statistics. Maintenance provides data. Traffic operations supplies signs/signals. Culvert locations.
FDOT Safety and Crash Data Collection System This FDOT database stores crash reports and other safety-related transportation data.
FDOT Scales and Inspection Facilities Includes static scales and weigh-in-motion facilities that are or will be equipped with ITS electronic clearance and safety inspection equipment.
FDOT Seaport Database FDOT database containing marine transportation data in the State of Florida. This may include cargo, ports, etc.
FDOT Skid Hazard Inventory Friction coefficients for all pavement in the state road system.
FDOT Skid Hazard Inventory Suppliers Inputs from Gainesville Testing Lab, which does a skid test every three years and following new construction. Includes friction numbers. The District Maintenance offices will provide "actions taken" information, representing the mitigation efforts to address low friction conditions.
FDOT State Highway System Crash Analysis Reporting System This database collects safety data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety Database, and provides this data to the FDOT districts and central office.
FDOT Statewide ITS WAN/C2C Infrastructure Represents the center-to-center (C2C) infrastructure, via the Statewide ITS Wide Area Network (WAN) that connects the Regional Transportation Management Centers (RTMC) and Transportation Management Centers (TMC) operated by FDOT in the State of Florida.
FDOT Statewide OIS Enterprise Databases Operated and maintained by the FDOT Office of Information System, this is a statewide database that includes bridge inventory, roadway character inventory system, and pavement management systems.
FDOT Statewide Public Information System Systems operated by the public information office that provide long-range traveler information, such as road construction advisories, to the media, other organizations, and travelers in the State. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories. This system also assists in the maintenance of all types of general public information about FDOT operations.
FDOT Statewide Transportation EOC (TEOC) FDOT's Statewide Emergency Operations Center located in Tallahassee, which is staffed only during emergencies by representatives of all allied responding agencies.
FDOT TERL The FDOT Traffic Engineering Research Laboratory (TERL) supports FDOT district offices with the technical evaluation of transportation devices, standards, specifications, and research.
FDOT Traffic Characteristics Inventory This statewide database collects long term traffic data for state roads in Florida. It collects this data from a number of traffic data collection sites around the state, including both temporary and permanent data collection sites.
FDOT Transit Database This entry covers four distinct databases for Transit data, including passenger, inventory, and fare data.
FHP CV Troopers Represents the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) vehicles and troopers dedicated to Commercial Vehicle (CV) Enforcement.
FHP Regional Dispatch Represents the regional dispatch centers for the Florida Highway Patrol. The dispatch centers provide call taking, communications, and dispatch functions.
Financial Institutions Banking and financial institutions used by ITS systems to perform various banking transactions (e.g., funds transfers, credit card account management).
Florida 511 Represents the statewide advanced traveler information system.
Florida DEP Air Quality Management System This planned system would be administered by the Department of Environmental Protection and monitor air quality so that surface transportation-related air quality issues can be studied and managed.
Florida Department of Agriculture AgPass System Program to allow commercial vehicles participating in the PrePass program that do not haul agricultural products or livestock to bypass Interdiction Stations.
Florida Department of Agriculture Database This central database includes a collection of written reports of the agricultural inspections performed by the state of Florida.
Florida Department of Agriculture Inspector Florida Department of Agriculture Inspector. Inspection is not limited to Commercial Vehicles.
Florida Department of Agriculture Interdiction Stations These stations inspect vehicles carrying agricultural products. They exist in District 1 and District 2, and one is planned for FDOT Districts. They do: 1) Agricultural Inspection, 2) Revenue Inspection (copy all bills of lading and send to a revenue database, and determine if additional taxes are due).
Florida Department of Revenue Database Tax reporting database, including the collection of tax and revenue via the transport of cargo and freight through the State of Florida.
Florida HAZMAT Permit System System that houses the administrative processes for issuing HAZMAT permits as well as provide information to Emergency Management agencies on Hazmat permits issued.
Florida Highway Patrol Vehicles Represents the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard the vehicles that are owned by the state and operated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida License, Registration, and Fuel Tax System This system issues commercial vehicle licenses, vehicle registrations, and administers fuel taxes for the state of Florida.
Florida Statewide EOC Regional Evacuation Routes Database This is a GIS display system that includes alternate routes, traffic counts, shelters, and other key evacuation information.
Florida Statewide EOC/Warning Point (SEOC) The state emergency operations center, located in Tallahassee that provides central command and control during major emergencies in the state of Florida. Serves as an information clearinghouse for disaster-related information. Includes a regional database containing the evacuation routes for the regional area. Includes basic primary and secondary route information.
Florida Statewide Tolling Customer Service Center This future element represents a centralized, state-managed customer service center for tolling. Tolling information would be sent from individual toll plazas to this customer service center.
Florida Transit System Vehicles Represents transit vehicles operated by regional transit management agencies.
Florida Transit Systems Represents the various transit operators and systems, both fixed-route and paratransit, in the State of Florida.
FTE Data Collection Field Equipment Represents the ITS field equipment operated by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise including vehicle detectors and CCTV cameras to monitor traffic. Includes mobile CCTVs (van-mounted).
FTE Maintenance and Construction Dispatches Represents the maintenance systems and maintenance dispatch for FDOT Turnpike Enterprise. Dispatches maintenance vehicles and equipment for maintaining the road, bridges and ITS equipment owned by the FDOT Turnpike Enterprise.
FTE Operations Center (Pompano) This regional TMC will manage Floridas Turnpike Enterprise operations in South Florida and will be staffed by both FTE and Florida Highway Patrol personnel.
FTE Operations Center (Turkey Lake) This Turnpike Enterprise operations center is located at Turkey Lake and manages Turnpike operations in the northern portion of the turnpike system. This regional TMC is staffed by both FDOT Turnpike and Florida Highway Patrol personnel.
FTE Public Information Office Systems The Florida DOT Turnpike Enterprise Public Information Office Systems that provide road construction advisories and other longer term traffic information to the media and directly to the traveling public. The information provided may include planned closures, maintenance activities, and other non-real time travel advisories.
FTE Sunpass Toll Collection System Electronic toll collection roadway equipment. e.g., tag readers, toll booth equipment, lane curtains, etc., operated by the FTE.
Gainesville Smart Traffic TMC The Gainesville Smart Traffic TMC optimizes driving efficiency by monitoring and coordinating traffic signals in the City of Gainesville and Alachua County. In the near future, the Gainesville Smart Traffic TMC will operate a Freeway Management System as well. The City of Gainesville Smart Traffic TMC is a joint venture between the City of Gainesville, Alachua County and the University of Florida.
HRI Crossings Database Info Suppliers Existing inventory from Transportation Statistics Office for sight distances, and railroads and safety databases for crash information. School districts provide school bus crossing volume. Rail companies provide rail speeds/volumes.
IFTA Clearinghouse This is a national clearinghouse designed to allocate fuel taxes between multiple states for motor carrier activities across jurisdictional lines, in accordance with the International Fuel Tax Agreement.
Inter-City Bus Service Inter-city bus services that provide passenger bus service to and between cities in Florida.
IRP Clearinghouse This is a registration reciprocity agreement among jurisdictions in the United States and Canada which provides for payment of license fees on the basis of fleet miles operated in various jurisdictions.
LeeWay Customer Service Center The customer service center for the LeeWay toll system.
Local Agency Traveler Information System Generic element representing the traveler information systems that are operated by local governments and agencies. They provide real-time and planned traveler information in the region through a variety of methods, including web sites, interactive telephone systems, pagers, etc.
Local EOCs Generic element representing municipal and local emergency operation centers (EOCs). The Local EOC provides a coordinating point for the effective management of local emergencies to catastrophic events in and around a metropolitan area. It is the lead organization in coordinating disaster response from a municipal level to state and federal.
Local Event Scheduling System This general system represents the convention center, music centers, sporting facilities, and other venues that regularly host events that impact traffic.
Local Fire/EMS Dispatch Generic element representing the local and municipal Fire Rescue and EMS dispatch centers. The dispatch center provides call taking, communications, and dispatch functions.
Local Fire/EMS Vehicles Generic element representing the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard the fire trucks, fire apparatus, EMS vehicles and other vehicles operated by local and municipal fire departments.
Local Police Dispatch Generic element representing the local and municipal police dispatch centers. The dispatch center provides call taking, communications, and dispatch functions.
Local Police Vehicles Generic element representing the ITS-devices (i.e., mobile data terminals) onboard local and municipal police vehicles.
MDX TMC This facility maintains ITS operations along the Miami-Dade Expressway and is co-located with the FDOT District 5 RTMC.
MDX Violations Processing Center The Violations Processing Center for the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority.
National Hurricane Center Info. System This system provides information to the public by issuing watches, warnings, forecasts, and analyses of hazardous weather conditions in the tropics.
National Weather Service National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration regional field office.

Other County and Local Traffic Management Centers Generic element representing county and municipal traffic signal control systems. These systems control traffic signals and manage other ITS traffic management devices, such as dynamic message signs, and CCTV cameras.
Other FDOT District EOCs Represents other FDOT District Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).
Other FDOT District Infrastructure Monitoring Equipment Infrastructure monitoring equipment including IR, cameras and motion detectors. These sensors and detectors are operated by other FDOT Districts to monitor and protect FDOT infrastructure and facilities, not for traffic monitoring, but allows other FDOT traffic management centers to view their data.

Other Public Safety Communications and Dispatch Centers This element represents the connection to other state (FHP and FDLE), County (Sheriff and Fire Rescue), and Local (municipal police and fire departments) law enforcement, fire, and EMS call taker and dispatch centers. It may include campus law enforcement providers, volunteer fire/rescue departments, federal law enforcement agencies, federal homeland security agencies, and other centers established for major incidents. This element is used in the architecture to show a consistent interface for the exchange of data between public safety systems that supports incident notification, hand-offs, resource coordination, and incident response coordination. Communication between these centers uses a mesh topology - any emergency management center can communicate directly with any other emergency management center. Note that this element also represents interfaces to emergency management centers in adjacent jurisdictions that also coordinate during major incidents.

Safestat Database SafeStat (Motor Carrier Safety Status Measurement System) is an automated, data driven analysis system designed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). SafeStat combines current and historical carrier-based safety performance information to measure the relative (peer-to-peer) safety fitness of interstate commercial motor carriers and intrastate commercial motor carriers that transport hazardous materials. This information includes Federal and State data on crashes, roadside inspections, on-site compliance review results and enforcement history. SafeStat enables FMCSA to quantify and monitor the safety status of individual motor carriers on a monthly basis and thereby focus enforcement resources on carriers posing the greatest potential safety risk.
Safety And Fitness Electronic Report (SAFER) An on-line system that will be available to users over a nationwide data network which will return a standard carrier safety fitness record to the requester within a few seconds.
School District Transportation Dispatch Represents the dispatch systems that manage school bus fleets. General ITS capabilities are included here, omitting fare management capabilities, but with increased emphasis on vehicle location and status tracking, associated security and safety systems, and the positive identification of students on the buses.

Statewide ETC Reciprocity Network This is a network that allows reconciliation of toll charges across different agencies. This network allows the exchange of information about clients who have incurred charges in jurisdictions of toll collection agencies other than their home (billing) customer service center. This information is used to resolve toll payments between the participating customer service centers. This architecture flow enables "reciprocity" between participating customer service centers.
SunGuide Data Archiving Represents data archiving for SunGuide systems. This could be a third party provider, such as the University of Maryland RITIS archive ,or a private company.

US Coast Guard Drawbridge Operations Miami-based US Coast Guard determines schedule for bridge openings and closings based on marine traffic and weather conditions. Marine traffic receives information from the Coast Guard on bridge schedules. Bridge tenders working for the FDOT Districts and Counties actually control the raising and lowering of the bridges. Transponders that provide bridge status information (none currently implemented) would provide this information directly to FDOT Districts and other operating agencies.
