Port of Miami Tunnel
Description: Stakeholder for the Port of Miami Tunnel (POMT). MAT Concessionaire LLC, known as MAT, is the private sector company carrying overall responsibility for the finance, design, construction, operation and maintenance for the 35 year duration of the concession contract entered into with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Emergency Management for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Participate in incident response, coordination, and reporting for the regional incident and mutual aid network.
- Perform incident detection and verification for highways in cities of the region.
- Coordinate emergency plans and maintenance resources with local maintenance and construction agencies.
- Receive early warning information and threat information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Coordinate emergency response with the county EOCs, local police, and county sheriff.
- Coordinate incident and threat information as part of an early warning system with RTMCs; regional emergency management agencies; regional maintenance and construction agencies; regional transit agencies; and regional ISPs.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county sheriff/fire/EMS/EOC, local police/fire/EMS, and other public safety agencies.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county sheriff/fire/EMS/EOC, local police/fire/EMS, the FHP, and other public safety agencies.
- Provide incident information to the FDOT District 6 traffic, maintenance, and construction agencies, as well as regional ISPs.
- Coordinate region wide emergency plans; evacuation and re-entry plans; and disaster management plans.
- Coordinate wide area alert notifications with regional traffic management agencies; regional emergency management agencies; regional maintenance and construction agencies; and regional transit agencies.
Highway Management for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Control highway traffic with lane control signals and portal traffic signals.
- Provide traffic information reports to other agencies.
- Monitor highway surveillance cameras.
- Monitor highway traffic sensors.
- Operate freeway traffic information devices, such as dynamic message sign (DMS) and highway advisory radio (HAR) equipment.
Incident Management (Emergency) for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Coordinate incident response with county and municipal public safety agencies, traffic management agencies, and the FDOT, as appropriate.
- Provide incident information to traffic management and public safety agencies.
- Coordinate maintenance resources in response to incidents with county and local public works departments and the FDOT District 6 maintenance section.
- Coordinate operations with traffic management agencies during scheduled events.
- Operate and maintain motorist call boxes within the tunnel.
Incident Management (Traffic and Maintenance) for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Coordinate emergency response with the county EOCs, local police, and county sheriff.
Information Dissemination for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Coordinate emergency plans, and incident responses and resources with the county EOC/warning points.
- Coordinate evacuation and re-entry plans with the county EOC/warning point.
- Provide traffic information (e.g., road network conditions) to public safety agencies.
- Provide traffic information in a coordinated effort to the FDOT statewide center-to-center (C2C) information network and the southeast Florida TMC information network.
Maintenance and Construction for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Coordinate maintenance resources for incidents with the FDOT District maintenance and construction operations.
- Provide maintenance and construction information to FDOT District 6 maintenance and construction operations; regional maintenance and construction operations; and the traveling public using DMS equipment.
- Coordinate with city and county maintenance and construction systems, and the FDOT District maintenance and construction sections.
- Distribute work zone information to local emergency management agencies, the media, and multimodal service providers.
Traveler Information for Southeast Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT Districts 4 and 6
- Collect traffic and incident information, and provide it to the media and private travelers.
- Coordinate and share traveler information with all other traveler information providers in the region.
- Provide maintenance and construction information to the traveling public using roadside equipment (e.g., DMS and HAR units) and traveler information systems.
