Project Description: This project would replace existing Dynamic Message Signs (DMSs) with new DMSs on District 7 freeways.

Project Functional Requirements (Element - Functional Object):

• FDOT District 7 Field Equipment - Roadway Traffic Information Dissemination
• 1: The field element shall include dynamic message signs for dissemination of traffic and other information to drivers, under center control; the DMS may be either those that display variable text messages, or those that have fixed format display(s) (e.g. vehicle restrictions, or lane open/close).

• 1: The center shall remotely control dynamic messages signs for dissemination of traffic and other information to drivers.

• Provide incident information to travelers using traffic information devices on freeways, such as dynamic message sign (DMS) devices and highway advisory radio (HAR) broadcasts, and through local information service providers (ISPs) and Web sites.
• Provide traffic information to travelers using FDOT DMS devices and HAR broadcasts.
