This area includes all the roles and responsibilities that have been identified for the Hillsborough County ATMS Program Expansion project.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Adjust signal-timing patterns in response to incidents.
• Coordinate traffic information and traffic control with the City of Tampa PWD and Pinellas County.
• Coordinate traffic information with FDOT District 7, adjoining counties, and cities in Hillsborough County.
• Obtain traffic images and traffic flow data from Citrus and Hillsborough County CCTVs and field sensors, and maintain operational control of all field equipment.
• Operate traffic signal systems on county-owned arterials.
• Perform maintenance of ITS field equipment owned by the county.
• Perform network surveillance for incident detection and verification, and send traffic/incident information and traffic images to local and county public safety agencies and EOCs.
• Provide emergency signal preemption for local and county fire vehicles.
• Provide incident information to travelers using traffic information devices on county-owned roadways, such as DMS devices and HAR broadcasts, and through local ISPs and Web sites.
• Provide traffic information to travelers using county-owned DMS devices.
• Provide transit signal priority with roadside devices for Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) Authority transit vehicles.
