FDOT CAV Wrong-Way Driving

Project Description: The FDOT CAV Wrong–Way Driving project will detect wrong–way drivers through information broadcast to and from connected vehicles. In addition, other CAV–equipped vehicles upstream will be notified through in–vehicle signage.

• 01: The field equipment shall warn wrong way vehicles using V2I communications.

• 01: The Center shall generate credential identifiers using facilities that are independently owned and operated from one another.
• 02: The Center shall assign two or more non-unique identifiers, that when combined are unique, to each credential it distributes.
• 04: The Center shall coordinate the distribution of credentials with other Centers.
• 05: The Center shall store credential identifiers using facilities that are independently owned and operated from one another.


• FDOT SCMS - CCMS Misbehavior Reporting and Action
• 01: The Center shall accept misbehavior reports from ITS Objects.

• Vehicle - Vehicle Basic Safety Communication
• 01: The vehicle shall provide its location with lane-level accuracy to on-board applications.

• 01: The vehicle shall monitor the area behind and in front of the vehicle to determine the proximity of other objects to the vehicle.
• 03: The vehicle shall evaluate the likelihood of a collision between two vehicles or a vehicle and a stationary object, based on the proximity of other objects to the vehicle and the current speed and direction of the vehicle.

• 01: The vehicle shall monitor the area to the sides of the vehicle to determine the proximity of other objects to the vehicle and if a warning is needed.

• 01: The vehicle shall receive notification that a vehicle has been detected traveling in the wrong direction.
• 02: The vehicle shall receive notification that vehicle is traveling in the wrong direction.
