Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response and resources with the county EOCs, local police, and county sheriff.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the 911 centers, county sheriff, county fire/EMS, county EOC, local police, local fire/EMS, Floridas SEOC, and other public safety agencies.
- Coordinate region wide emergency plans; evacuation and re-entry plans; and disaster management plans.
- Dispatch FHP vehicles to incidents in the jurisdiction
- Participate in the incident response, coordination, and reporting of the regional incident and mutual aid network.
- Perform incident detection and verification for the highways in the state.
- Provide incident reports to the 911 call center.
- Provide Mayday support using call boxes on FTE toll roads, and provide Mayday support for private, concierge service providers.
- Receive Amber Alert information from the FDLE dispatch. Receive other wide area alert information from the county EOC/Warning Point.
- Receive early warning information and threat information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Regional Transit Management Agencies
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitors alerts, advisories, and other threat information and prepares for and responds to identified emergencies.
- Supports incident management, disaster response and evacuation, security monitoring, and other security and public safety-oriented ITS applications.
- County City and Local Emergency Management Agencies
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency plans and maintenance resources with local maintenance and construction agencies.
- Coordinate emergency plans, emergency transit schedules, and the status of emergency transit systems with regional transit agencies.
- Coordinate incident and threat information (as part of an early warning system) with RTMCs; regional emergency management agencies; regional maintenance and construction agencies; and regional transit agencies.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with Floridas SEOC, local EOCs, and FDOT District EOCs.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county sheriff, county fire/EMS, county EOC, local police, local fire/EMS, the FHP, and other public safety agencies.
- Coordinate wide area alert notifications with regional traffic management agencies; regional emergency management agencies; regional maintenance and construction agencies; and regional transit agencies.
- Develop and coordinate county/region wide emergency plans; evacuation and re-entry plans; and disaster management plans with regional emergency management agencies; traffic management agencies; transit management agencies; and maintenance and construction
- Operate the county EOC/warning points, including incident coordination with regional emergency management providers.
- Participate in incident response, coordination, and reporting for the regional incident and mutual aid network.
- Provide alert notification to Floridas SEOC; regional emergency management providers; regional transit agencies; and county and city maintenance and construction systems.
- Provide evacuation and incident information to regional ISPs and the media for travelers in the region.
- Regional Public Safety Agencies
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county EOCs, the FDOTs EOCs, and local EOCs.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county sheriff and county fire/EMS/rescue.
- Coordinate incident response and incident reports with the county sheriff, county fire/EMS, county EOC, local police, local fire/EMS, the FHP, and other public safety agencies.
- Participate in and coordinate incident response, coordination, and reporting for the regional incident and mutual aid network.
- Receive early warning information and threat information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Receive emergency calls for incidents within jurisdiction of the 911 center.
- Request emergency dispatch from the local police and local fire/EMS dispatches.
- FDOT State Emergency Management Office
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides a coordinating point for the effective management of local emergencies to catastrophic events in and around the state.
- Florida Division of Emergency Management
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manages and maintains a regional database containing the evacuation routes for the regional area as well as basic primary and secondary route information.
- Provides central command and control during major emergencies in the state of Florida.
- Serves as an information clearinghouse for disaster-related information.
