Incident Management (Traffic and Maintenance) for Western Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 3
- Provide incident information to travelers using traffic information devices on county roads, and through local ISPs, Web sites, and the local media.
- Coordinate maintenance resources for incident response with county and city maintenance and construction systems.
- Receive incident information, incident response status, and resource requests from the county EOC/warning points.
- Perform network surveillance for detection and verification of incidents on county roads, and send traffic/incident information and traffic images to county fire/EMS/sheriff, the FHP, the county EOC, and local fire/EMS/police agencies.
Information Dissemination for Western Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 3
- Coordinate emergency plans, incident responses, and resources with the county EOC.
- Provide traffic and road network information to local transit agencies, including Bay County’s transit providers and school districts.
- Provide traffic information (i.e., road network conditions) to local emergency management providers, including local fire/EMS/police agencies, the FHP, and the county sheriff.
- Coordinate evacuation and reentry plans with the county EOC.
- Provide traffic information in a coordination effort to the FDOT statewide C2C information network.
- Provide traffic information to travelers using Bay County’s DMS devices.
- Provide traffic information to travelers using the BayCounty website; F L511; private sector traveler information services; county and city systems; and the media.
- Receive AMBER Alert and other wide area alert information from the county EOC.
- Obtain traffic images and traffic flow data from the City of Tallahassee field equipment; county and local field equipment; and FDOT District 3 field equipment.
Traffic Signal Control for Western Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 3
- Coordinate emergency traffic signal control with the county EOC/warning points.
- Coordinate HRI signal adjustments, and provide track status information (e.g., blockage) to rail operators and local traffic operations.
- Obtain traffic images and traffic flow data from CCTVs and field sensors.
- Operate traffic signal systems, including CCTVs, signals, and sensors, for Bay County.
- Provide emergency signal preemption for county and local fire/EMS providers.
Transit Management for Western Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 3
- Provide fixed-route bus service for the FDOT District 3 region.
- Coordinate a transit security breach with local police and the county sheriff.
- Provide operator instructions and receive schedule performance information from demand-response and fixed-route transit vehicles while in service.
- Provide paratransit/demand responsive transit service for the FDOT District 3 region.
- Coordinate emergency plans with county EOCs, and provide emergency transit services for evacuations, fires, and disasters, including reentry services.
- Provide transit incident information to local agency traveler information services, the FDOT statewide ATIS, and private ISPs.
- Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment on all demand-response transit vehicles.
- Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment on all fixed-route transit vehicles.
- Provide transit schedule and fare information to local agency traveler information services, the FDOT statewide ATIS, and private ISPs.
- Coordinate multimodal connections for fixed-route transit vehicles with other regional transit agencies and multimodal service providers, including airports.
- Provide transit security on all transit vehicles, and at transit terminals and other transit facilities, using silent alarms and surveillance systems.
- Provide transit traveler information to local agency traveler information services, the FDOT statewide ATIS, and private traveler information services, as well as making it available on all fixed-route transit vehicles and at transit station kiosks.
- Receive road network conditions from the Bay County TMC.
- Receive work zone information and road network status from county and city roadway maintenance and construction agencies.
- Track and evaluate schedule performance on all Bay County transit vehicles.
- Provide a demand responsive transit plan to users/travelers using local agency traveler information services or private traveler information systems.
- Provide automated transit maintenance scheduling on all Bay County transit vehicles using automated vehicle condition.
