FDOT District 6 Alton Road Smart Work Zone Project
Project Description: FDOT District 6 is developing the design for reconstruction of SR 907/Alton Road from Michigan Avenue to East of Allison Road within the City of Miami Beach. The Project will be divided into 4 segments. FDOT District 6's intent is to implement a Smart Work Zone (SWZ) system covering the 4 segments, as a standalone contract. The selected Contractor will be responsible for the SWZ design, implementation, operation, and maintenance throughout the duration of the Project. The anticipated SWZ strategies (currently under development by FDOT District 6) include advanced work zone information, advanced detour routing information, queue detection and warning, and advanced incident warning.
