US: NTCIP Message Sign - SNMPv1
Description:
This solution is used within the U.S.. It combines standards associated with US: NTCIP Message Sign with those for I-F: SNMPv1. The US: NTCIP Message Sign standards include upper-layer standards required to implement center-to-field message sign communications. The I-F: SNMPv1 standards include lower-layer standards that define how SNMPv1, which does not provide any security, is used within some deployments within the ITS industry. This solution is no longer recommended due to known security vulnerabilities.

Field SubNet Alternatives
A set of alternative standards that defines various SubNet Layer alternatives for use in center-to-field and field-to-field connections.

Facilities
NTCIP 2301
Bundle: NTCIP AP-STMF
This standard specifies the standards required for the Facilities Layer for most center-to-field communications using the SNMPv1 GET-SET paradigm.

Mgmt
Bundle: SNMPv1 MIB
A bundle of standards (RFCs) used to manage an Internet device that supports SNMPv1. SNMPv1 is deprecated as it does not provide any security, which exposes the entire C-ITS environment to well-known vulnerabilities.

TransNet
Field TransNet Alternatives
A set of alternative standards that defines various TransNet Layer alternatives that are typical for center-to-field and field-to-field communications. TP-Internet can be used with virtually any SubNet; TP-Transportation is restricted to single-hop networks and is typically only used over PMPP.

Readiness Description:
Many serious issues. This category includes solutions that have not been standardized, or do not have a basic level of interoperability or security. Consider selecting a different communications solution or if this is not possible (eg. a pilot of a new application that has not been standardized), take additional measures to provide an acceptable level of security or interoperability.
