FDOT District 5 Operations Dashboard
Project Description: FDOT District 5 Operations Dashbaords consist of the the following three Dasboards:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting for Transportation (DART) and DASH Dashboards: DART and DASH Dashboards would provide an information portal to various sources of ITS data collected by the D5 RTMC SunGuide software, and would include displays for real–time and historical traffic data analysis, and event information for incidents with a significant impact on public safety. In addiiton to the SunGuide, Operations Dashboard will also receive data from Maintenance and Inventory Management (MIMS), and Benefits Costing Utility systems.
2. Active Arterial Management (AAM) Dashboard: AAM Dashboard would facilitate a higher level of service, improved coordination among stakeholder, and safer arterial roadways for motorists by connecting IT, ITS, MIS, and signal systems control. The AAMD will be used and managed by dedicated professionals and will enable AAM operations to pro–actively monitor, identify and respond to causes of congestion on a near real–time basis. The proposed system covers Orange, Seminole and Volusia Counties. Provisions are being planned to add Brevard, Marion and Osceola County as the program expands and the data is available through SunGuide.
3. Multimodal Dashboard: Multimodal Dashboard would provide a user interface into the data being collected by District 5 about and related to the transportation system. The dashboard is meant to provide access to interface with several of the datasets within the Data Fusion Environment (DFE) Sandbox environment through established Application Programming Interfaces (API) or by other operational systems and data sources identified by FDOT District 5.

1: The center shall collect traffic management data such as operational data, event logs, etc.
-
FDOT District 5 AAM Dashboard - TMC Regional Traffic Management
-
1: The center shall exchange traffic information with other traffic management centers including incident information, congestion data, traffic data, signal timing plans, and real-time signal control information.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Dashboard - TMC Data Collection
-
1: The center shall collect traffic management data such as operational data, event logs, etc.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Dashboard - TMC Incident Detection
-
6: The center shall provide road network conditions and traffic images to emergency management centers to support the detection, verification, and classification of incidents.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Database - Archive Data Repository
-
1: The center shall collect data from centers.
-
11: The center shall respond to requests for archive data from archive data users (centers, field devices).
-
2: The center shall collect data catalogs from one or more data sources. A catalog describes the data contained in the collection of archived data and may include descriptions of the schema or structure of the data, a description of the contents of the data; e.g., time range of entries, number of entries; or a sample of the data (e. g. a thumbnail).
-
4: The center shall perform quality checks on collected data.
-
7: The center shall provide the capability to execute methods on the incoming data such as cleansing, summarizations, aggregations, or transformations applied to the data before it is stored in the archive.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Database - Archive On-Line Analysis and Mining
-
1: The center shall respond to requests for archive data from center users.
-
2: The center shall provide the capability to perform activities such as data mining, data fusion, summarizations, aggregations, and recreation from archive data. This may include multidimensional analysis, selective summarization and expansion of data details, and many other advanced analysis services.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Database - Archive Situation Data Archival
-
6: The center shall provide the capability to execute methods on the incoming field data such as aggregation and statistical measures before the data is stored in the archive.
-
7: The center shall respond to requests from the administrator interface function to select and manage data stored in the archive.
-
FDOT District 5 DART and DASH Database - TMC Incident Detection
-
6: The center shall provide road network conditions and traffic images to emergency management centers to support the detection, verification, and classification of incidents.
-
FDOT District 5 Maintenance and Inventory Management System (MMIS) - Center Field Equipment Management
-
1: The center shall collect the status and fault data from field equipment, such as traffic, infrastructure, and environmental sensors, highway advisory radio and dynamic message signs, automated roadway treatment systems, barrier and safeguard systems, cameras, traffic signals and override equipment, ramp meters, short range communications equipment, security sensors and surveillance equipment, etc..
-
FDOT District 5 Multimodal Dashboard - TMC Incident Detection
-
3: The center shall receive inputs concerning upcoming events that would effect the traffic network from event promoters and traveler information service providers.
-
FDOT District 5 Multimodal Dashboard - TMC Incident Dispatch Coordination
-
4: The center shall exchange incident information with emergency management centers, maintenance and construction centers, transit centers, information service providers, and the media including description, location, traffic impact, status, expected duration, and response information.
-
FDOT District 5 Multimodal Dashboard - TMC Multi-Modal Coordination
-
2: The center shall exchange information with transit management centers including details current transit routes, the level of service on each route, and the progress of individual vehicles along their routes.
-
FDOT District 5 Multimodal Dashboard - TMC Regional Traffic Management
-
1: The center shall exchange traffic information with other traffic management centers including incident information, congestion data, traffic data, signal timing plans, and real-time signal control information.
