Project Functional Requirements (Element - Functional Object):

• Manatee-Sarasota Regional Traffic Management Center - TMC Basic Surveillance
• 1: The center shall monitor, analyze, and store traffic sensor data (speed, volume, occupancy) collected from field elements under remote control of the center.


• Sarasota County Field Equipment - Roadway Basic Surveillance
• 1: The field element shall collect, process, digitize, and send traffic sensor data (speed, volume, and occupancy) to the center for further analysis and storage, under center control.

• US: NTCIP Transportation Sensors - SNMPv3/TLS

Project Operational Concepts:

Roles and Responsibilities

• Sarasota County Public Works Department
• Monitor traffic images and traffic flow data through CCTVs and field sensors, and maintain operational control of its own field equipment.


• Manatee County Area Traffic Agencies
• Obtain traffic images and traffic flow data through closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) and field sensors from Manatee and Sarasota counties, and the cities of Bradenton and Venice, and maintain operational control of all field equipment.
• Operate and maintain video surveillance of roadway.
