Countywide Emergency/ Transit / Pre-Emption System Roles and Responsibilities

This area includes all the roles and responsibilities that have been identified for the Countywide Emergency/ Transit / Pre-Emption System project.

Stakeholders

Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor traffic images and traffic flow data through CCTVs and field sensors, and maintain operational control of its own field equipment.
• Operate traffic signal systems for Lee County.
• Provide emergency signal preemption for county fire and county EMS agencies for signals at Fire/EMS stations
• Provide emergency signal preemption for local fire/EMS agencies.
• Provide signal priority for transit.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Obtain traffic signal priority from the Lee County ATMS using Lee County roadside field equipment for LeeWay fixed-route transit vehicles.



• County Public Safety Agencies

Roles and Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency management activities with other traffic and emergency management agencies.
• Install and maintain signal preemption equipment.
