Emergency Management for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1
- Coordinate emergency response with county EOCs, the FHP, and the county sheriff's office.
- Coordinate region wide emergency plans; evacuation and re-entry plans; and disaster management plans.
- Receive Amber Alert and other wide area alert information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Receive early warning information and threat information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Coordinate with regional medical centers regarding the status of the care facility.
- Respond to transit emergencies/alarms on transit vehicles or in the transit facilities of Collier, Lee, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and Polk counties; in Cape Coral and Winter Haven; and on school buses.
- Dispatch county sheriff vehicles to incidents in the jurisdiction
- Suggest routes to sheriff's vehicles in response to an emergency, and track the sheriff's vehicles to the incidents.
- Participate in incident response, coordination, and reporting of the regional incident and mutual aid network.
- Perform incident detection and verification for streets within the counties of the region.
Incident Management (Emergency) for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1
- Coordinate incident response with other public safety agencies, such as the police, fire, EMS agencies, and the FHP.
- Coordinate maintenance resources for incident response with county and city DPWs, and the FDOT Maintenance Office.
- Coordinate public safety resources for incident response with regional traffic agencies, such as the FDOT and county/city agencies.
- Dispatch county sheriff vehicles to incidents within jurisdiction.
- Perform incident detection and verification for all streets in the region, and provide this information to traffic and other safety agencies.
