Emergency Management for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1
- Coordinate emergency response with county EOCs and county fire/EMS agencies.
- Receive Amber Alert and other wide area alert information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Receive early warning information and threat information from the county EOC/warning point.
- Receive emergency vehicle preemption from Charlotte and Collier counties; the cities of Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakeland, Marco Island, Naples, Venice, and Winter Haven; and Manatee and Sarasota counties.
- Coordinate with regional medical centers regarding the status of the care facility, as well as the patient status en route to the medical center.
- Suggest routes to fire/EMS vehicles in response to an emergency, and track EMS vehicles to incidents.
- Dispatch fire and EMS vehicles to incidents in the region.
- Participate in incident response, coordination, and reporting of the regional incident and mutual aid network.
Incident Management (Emergency) for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1
- Coordinate incident response with other public safety agencies, such as the police, sheriff's office, and the FHP.
- Coordinate local fire and EMS resources for incident response with regional traffic agencies, such as the FDOT, and county and city agencies.
- Coordinate maintenance resources for incident response with county and city DPWs, and the FDOT Maintenance Office.
- Dispatch local fire and EMS vehicles to incidents within jurisdiction.
- Perform incident detection and verification for all streets in the region, and provide this information to traffic and other safety agencies.
