Roles and Responsibilities:

Emergency Management for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1 (Copy 1)
• Coordinate maintenance resources for incident response with county and city maintenance and construction systems.

Highway Management for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1 (Copy 11)
• Coordinate emergency management activities with other traffic and emergency management agencies.

Incident Management (Emergency) for Southwest Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 1 (Copy 1)
• Provide incident information to travelers via traffic information devices on city roads, and through local ISPs, Web sites, and the local media.
• Receive Amber Alert and other wide area alert information from the county EOC/warning point.
• Coordinate emergency management activities with other traffic and emergency management agencies.

• Provide signal preemption for railroads.
• Coordinate traffic information and traffic control with Sarasota County.
• Monitor traffic images and traffic flow data through CCTVs and field sensors, and maintain operational control of its own field equipment.
• Operate county and local drawbridge systems in conjunction with city signal systems.
• Operate traffic signal systems for the City of Venice.
• Provide emergency signal preemption for local fire/EMS agencies.
