FDOT District 5 Multi-Modal Trip-Planning Application Engine

Project Description: This project would devlop and deploy application engine that would support 3rd party traveler application development which would run on a personal handheld device assisting a traveler in making a trip plan consists of different modes of transporation available from source to destination. The application engine would receive data from different modes of transportation service providers such as traffic, transit, ridesharing service providers (Uber, Lyft etc.). Also, it would receive parking, weather and other transportation related data from various sources (models, simulations, surveys related to walkability, bikeability etc.) that would be necessary in generating an efficient and effective trip plan.

1: The ITS Object shall provide its network address, service offerings and metrics characterizing those services to vehicles within the broadcast range of the ITS Object's short range communications equipment.
