Description: Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) is the public transit provider in Pinellas County, Florida, operating fixed route buses and trolleys. In addition, operates express buses between Pinellas County and Tampa, and the Suncoast Beach Trolley between the Gulf Beaches from Clearwater Beach to Pass–a–Grille.

Roles and Responsibilities:

City of Clearwater Transit Signal Priority Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the Pinellas County TMC, and the cities of Clearwater and St. Petersburg for traffic signal priority.

Hillsborough County C2C Communications Roles and Responsibilities
• Receive road network conditions from Hillsborough County Traffic Management Center.

Pinellas Connected Community ATCMTD CAV Roles and Responsibilities
• Receive road network conditions from Pinellas County Traffic Management Center.
• Coordinate with the Pinellas County TMC, and the cities of Clearwater and St. Petersburg for traffic signal priority.

PSTA Bus Rapid Transit Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the Pinellas County TMC, and the cities of Clearwater and St. Petersburg for traffic signal priority.

PSTA CAD/AVL Upgrade Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide operator instructions and receive schedule performance data from PSTA vehicles while in service.
• Track and evaluate schedule performance for all PSTA vehicles.

PSTA Fare Integration Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities using different fare payment applications.

PSTA Farebox upgrade Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities on all PSTA vehicles.
• Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities using different fare payment applications.

PSTA Intermodal Centers Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate transit schedules with other local transit agencies, particularly for transit connections at transit transfer points.
• Coordinate with multimodal transportation agencies, including Clearwater and Cross Bay ferries.

PSTA Security CCTV Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide transit security on all PSTA vehicles using silent alarms and on-board video surveillance.

Regional SmartCard Project Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities on all PSTA vehicles.

Transit Management for West Central Florida Regional ITS Architecture - FDOT District 7
• Provide fixed-route bus and paratransit services for Pinellas County.
• Coordinate emergency plans with county EOCs and provide emergency transit services for evacuations, fires, and disasters, including reentry services.
• Provide operator instructions and receive schedule performance data from PSTA vehicles while in service.
• Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities on all PSTA vehicles.
• Provide transit schedule and fare information to the FL511 and PSTA traveler information systems.
• Provide transit security on all PSTA vehicles using silent alarms and on-board video surveillance (future).
• Provide transit traveler information to FL511, PSTA traveler information systems, and private sector traveler information systems, and make it available on all HART vehicles.
• Coordinate transit schedules with other local transit agencies, particularly for transit connections at transit transfer points.
• Coordinate transit security incidents with local police and county sheriffs.
• Coordinate with multimodal transportation agencies, including airports and heavy rail systems.
• Coordinate with the Pinellas County TMC, and the cities of Clearwater and St. Petersburg for traffic signal priority.
• Track and evaluate schedule performance for all PSTA vehicles.
• Provide a demand-responsive bus transit plan to users and travelers using the PSTA traveler information system and TD service provider systems.
• Provide automated transit maintenance scheduling on all PSTA vehicles using automated vehicle conditions reporting (future).
